It seemed like yesterday when I had our kitchen renovated but it has actually been over three years. As they say, time flies when you are having fun. I have spent a lot of time in our kitchen all those past three years and I have enjoyed every nook and cranny. It is a very functional kitchen and three years on, I am still happy with it.
I am happy to say the kitchen still looks very new but the floor needs changing ( we did not change it as it was still fine during the renovation) and we need better lighting. I was perusing the web the other day as planning to change the windows as well(also not changed during renovation) and found a site about roof windows. Now, our kitchen can do with a good roof window and I believe there is a possibility to do that with the structure of our kitchen. A new roof window will do wonders with the lighting.
The accent wall where our breakfast corner is located also needs updating. This one was hand painted by my wonderful husband but I am thinking of changing it soon as we can see wear and tear on it now. I am thinking wallpaper might be a better option and have fallen in love with this beautiful understated wallpaper. This corner is one of my favourites in the kitchen. I love having breakfasts here in the summer. We could do with a new high table and chair. A white set would also help with the overall ambience of the place. It will make it light and airy.
Lastly, the wall right under the cupboards is looking so bare. I have been looking at a backsplash that will compliment the wallpapers and found these hexagon tiles. As of now, it looks unexciting and adding that backsplash will definitely give it character.
I am desperate to start this project as the kitchen needs some TLC, I reckon.
Please let me know what you think, guys.
