ABOUT The Stage Mommy
I believe there is a Stage Mommy (or daddies!) in each one of us. The name carries a negative connotation but being a stage mom does not have to be a negative aspect of parenthood. It does not need to mean tiger mom or pushy mom. For me, being a stage mommy is someone who supports her child (or children) and encourages them to reach for their dreams, someone who is always there to hold their hand and pick them up when they fall (literally and figuratively), the one who the holds most pride when they succeed in all things, big or small.
This blog has evolved so much since I started it in 2004. It started as a personal journal on one of the main social media platforms during that time, Friendster where I used to write my thoughts on the notes section. You can say I have been blogging way before the word “blog” was coined. Welcome To My World on Multiply was about my personal musings then I started The Stage Mommy Diaries on Blogger when I became a mommy to document my little girl’s entry into the world. I finally decided to self-host my site to bring a better digital experience to my readers, with better photos and content.
Today, The Stage Mommy is much more than a mommy blog, it is now a digital destination on family and home, travel and lifestyle.
My name is Raquel, a self confessed Stage Mommy to a wonderful 7 year old daughter who inspired this blog in the first place and a wife of 13 years to my first love. My site favicon (the icon on my website tab) will tell you about my love of macarons and food for that matter. I have a serious case of wanderlust which has rubbed off on my husband and daughter. We are absolutely raising a wanderluster here. I also dabble in decorating our home to my style and cooking lovely meals for my family and friends which leads to my love of entertaining at home which is in Bedfordshire in the UK. All of those things encompass The Stage Mommy.
